I actually don't come from winemaking at all. But in 2021 I took over this slope in Verdings, at 930 metres above Klausen. Schist, clay, lots of wind. I only grow one variety, Solaris, and that's enough for me.
We do everything here by hand. Every vine is pruned by ourselves, we pick the grapes into small crates. Sometimes my kids are out there with me between the rows — that's just part of it.
