Our Story
From the first vine to the first vintage
No inheritance. A decision. The path into winemaking began in 2023 at 930 m a.s.l. in Verdings.

The Land
In 2023 the first vines were planted at 930 m a.s.l. A steep slope on weathered quartz phyllite with clay overlays and iron-rich inclusions. Alpine climate. Nothing easy about it.

The First Vines
The path into winemaking was not a planned career move. A lateral entry rather than tradition. A deliberate decision for an independent site and against compromise.

The First Wine
The choice fell on a single grape variety: Solaris. No hedging through diversity. One site, one variety, one clearly defined style. The ambition is simple: quality without compromise. Care in the vineyard. Precision in the cellar. What emerges is the result of site, discipline and consistent execution.
The Name Pyneit
The name Pyneit refers to the historic mountain farmstead above Gufidaun at the entrance to the Villnoess valley. First documented in 1420, the farm was inhabited until the Second World War, then left unused. My great-grandfather tended the meadows until his death some fifty years ago. Since then, the land grew over. Reactivating these areas is part of the project. Sparse mountain terrain, high effort, low productivity. Economic yield is not the measure. What matters is that this place is not forgotten.
